ABSA Resourcing Administrator Internship Programme 2018, The ABSA Technology Resourcing team are looking for their next shining star, could this be you? Have you completed a Degree in Human Resources and you are looking to build your career in a HR environment?

In this role as an Intern for ABSA Resourcing you will offer support to the Resourcing team throughout the ABSA recruitment process and support the resourcing team in achieving their goals and attracting the best talent to the organization, whilst making it a fantastic experience.

  • Using SAP, access candidates information to confirm if an applicant is an ex Absa employees
  • Flag to Resourcing Consultant and line manager the reason for leaving
  • Co-ordinate the completion of the rehire form and get approval before the offer is extended to the candidate
  • Relevant documented reason for leaving and possible ex-line Managers to contact in case of a reference
  • Support to Sourcing team on finding and attracting talent to ABSA


  • Preparing interview packs for interviews
  • Coordinating relevant assessments
  • Booking interview rooms
  • Setting up interviews
  • Booking parking for candidates
  • Collecting candidates from reception and providing them a warm welcome

Pre – Hiring Selection 

  • Run and ensure pre-employment checks are in place which includes,
  • Capturing fingerprints if they are not already hosted
  • ITC & Experian Checks
  • ID verification & Validation Checks
  • Qualification Checks
  • Reference Checks

Onboarding Candidates 

  • Support the candidate with their onboarding process by ensuring tasks are completed in due time
  • Do rigorous follow ups and escalate where required in the event of challenges
  • Creating a fantastic candidate experience by being a point of contact whilst on-boarding them to ABSA
  • Prepare the schedule of first day starters according to geographical location.
  • Send reminders to business around the new joiners
  • Facilitate the first day meet and greet of new joiners with business – you are their warm welcome!

Essential requirements

  • You will possess a B Degree in Human Resources and a passion / interest for IT is advantageous
  • No criminal record

Experience in a HR / Resourcing environment would be advantageous

    • Other important information
    • This is a paid internship for 12 months
    • There is no guarantee of employment following these 12 months
    • This internship will follow the Employment Equity policy of ABSA
    • You will be based at 15 Troye Street, Barclays Towers West, Johannesburg for the duration of your internship but some travel to other locations and offices in Johannesburg may be required from time to time
    • Office hours will be 08h00 to 16h30
